MILPITAS — Police are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of three men suspected of stealing thousands of dollars’ worth of merchandise from a jewelry store in August.

Police said in a statement that detectives have been unable to locate the three men after spending several months investigating the case, and searching for the suspects in “various cities in Northern and Central California.”

On Aug. 25 around 7:33 p.m., police say the three men smashed display cases and stole jewelry and watches from Valliani Jewelers inside the Great Mall, at 302 Great Mall Drive, and then fled the area in a black 4-door sedan.

Police also said the suspects were inside the Home Depot at the Great Mall committing another theft just before the jewelry, though the details of that incident were not provided.

Police described the suspects as three black men, though police did not provide their approximate ages or other information.

All three men were described as last seen possibly wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with “U.S. Polo Assn” in white letters along the right sleeve. One man wore red shorts, white socks, and red shoes.

The second man wore a white undershirt, light blue shorts with small designs, and white and black shoes, while the third man described by police wore a white undershirt, faded light-colored jeans, and white and black shoes.

Police said the investigation is “active and ongoing,” and people with information about the theft should call the Milpitas Police Department at 408-586-2400.
