New Hartland boutique carries home goods, jewelry and clothes from across the world — and Wisconsin - Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

Julianne Spoerl's nickname has always been Jules.

"I love jewelry," said Spoerl, a Sussex resident. "You can never have enough bling."

Her mouse pad even says, "Don't ever let anyone dull your sparkle."

Now, she sells jewelry, along with accessories, home goods and "on-trend" clothing at her new Hartland shop, Juli & Boutique, 138 North Ave., Suite 3.

"I wanted to add beauty and fun to people's interiors and wardrobes," she said.

Spoerl's inventory comes from places she has traveled to.

The boutique carries kimonos and bags from Denver, fringe jackets from Boulder, scarves from Italy, colorful sweaters from Atlanta, embroidered tops and snake print dresses from New York, and umbrellas from Boynton Beach.

"I wanted to bring different things to the Lake Country area," she said.

The shop also sells vegan hats and recycled items, like Vintage Addiction bags, which are made from Army tents.

Wisconsin products include Honey Acres Inc. chocolate and honey, jean jackets from Nora's Dream Creations, candles from Beaver Dam, and bundles of Northwoods birch, which are cut by Spoerl's husband, Ryan, and their sons, Jacob and Josh.

Housewares will change seasonally, Spoerl said.

"I just want it to be somewhere where someone comes in and says, 'There's always something different,'" she said.

Spoerl said she has been helping friends decorate and put together outfits for years.

"It's something I've always loved to do," she said. "I have a passion for that."

With this passion and some push from friends and family, she decided to open the shop.

Spoerl renovated the boutique's space within five days of signing the lease, and held its grand opening Dec. 14.

The boutique is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Before becoming a business owner, Spoerl was the vice president of marketing and advertising for The Boucher Group for 17 years, then did automotive copywriting and digital marketing in North Carolina and Florida. She also volunteered with assisted living facilities and church groups.

"I just love working with people," she said.

The Spoerl family moved back to Wisconsin in 2017, and Julianne spent time working with Penny Mustard as a sales design consultant.

She chose Hartland as the spot for her shop because it's where her church, St. Charles Catholic Church, is located.
